Not real sure how I feel about the following video. I think a this age, the child is far too young to be shooting a pistol, especially a .45, is far too young to be competing in a competition, and I'm not real sure about the ability of his bones etc to cope with the stresses of the recoil.
But this is in the Philippines, so it doesn't surprise me even remotely.

Well, to me he seemed to handle the recoil without a problem.
He had a good grip, stayed on target and kept the pistol pointing in the correct direction, better than some adults I have run into. Have a look at the lack of muzzle jump, impressive. He moved with care and delibration, no stumbling and he's concentrating on what hes doing. He's a kid ahead of his years.
Good on him.
Will it do him any long term harm, I doubt it, kids are supple, and he seems fairly strong for his age.
I wonder if they allow reduced load ammo for him to offset his size and lack of mass?

Damn, even at minor factor, those recoils going to harm his body.
Then again, there's parents that start their children boxing at 4 years old.
Got to admit the kid shoots great...

Doubt reduced loads would be any good...wouldn't cycle the action.

You can change the recoil spring on 1911's for reduced loads, they range from 11lbs to 24lbs.

Wolf Recoil Springs go as low as 7lbs !!!
We successfully ran a .40cal 1911 with 200gr lead bullets at 650fps using a 8 or 9lb spring.......... gotta love them 1911's

The kids a will more than likely be a good shot when he grows up. As for his bones they will just get stronger the more he shoots.
