I never thought of that expanding foam dealio. That's some wicked cool stuff and easy to trim outta wrong places. Excellent idea.
Interesting ideas- guess I aint alone with all this type of stuff.
Either or I'm still stoked over the entire deal. What a great shooter and it met my expectations, exceeded them in fact for the price.

My Wby Vangaurd was bought online, new in the box with an aftermarket walnut stock. Nice grain, simple utilitarian stock. I can try to sift through my paperwork to find out who made it (but you probably already have the stock you want to eventually buy already picked out). I just have always preferred wood for rifle stocks and metal frames for handguns.

For a propper hunting rig yepper...walnut and blued steel. Just looks right to me. This is a "Tactical" shooter so the B&C Medalist may get the nod should this Hogue gumby stock not pan out and again I can shoot around it I'm not that picky. Aint a fan of "plastic" stocks they warp with heat and never come back...B&C's dont warp and for 200$ they are a steal.

I like the look/feel of plywood stocks(oops I mean laminated)
you get the best of both worlds, they look good and dont move around.

Got tired of looking at the taped-on comb lift, it worked a treat but, well, time for something more permanent and less grit attracting.
So I grabbed an old wetsuit and chopped the sleeve off, trimmed it up around the stiched edges and insterted that old sneaker insole and viola! Saved 25$ on a Beartooth comb raising kit. Since the stock is rubber and really tacky I didnt need anything more that friction to keep it in place and it's removeable for cleaning and what not. And it was FREE. Teency bit of trimming left to do but...so far this is what I've got. I'm also going to forget abouut modding the stock for rigidity there's too much rubber on it and such and I dont feel like melting it so it is what it is and I can shoot around it. El Kabong's got one of these too and it's been trouble free so far...so there's something to be said for not tossing out everything in the garage that collects dust I guess
Tada!

And lookie it even has a coool logo on it! .......howz it smell...I'm thinkin your snozzel on the sneaker insole and the briny wet-suit-armpit-thing goin on, it must have some......well if you were hunting with it, you could call it a cover scent, I guess. I love the way it fits. Don't ever throw away a wet suit, I've cut mine into equally handy stuff over the years. You start with the arms and cut off the legs at the knees. You can always visualize wearing it that way. Then over the years (of not surfing) you take the remainder of the legs. Don't know what I have left, but I'm sure I'm not going to try and wear it anymore. Still useful tho! I swear you should market that, it looks perfect!

that could work well on a shotgun with a low stock it sure would help with stock jump too.
