Just a thought.
Obama gets into office, the liberals take over congress, and now, 100 days into office, we are invaded by the swines.
Methinks that it is a conspiracy.

Don't be silly - Jackasses are useful animals and generally like to leave people alone. Democrats on the other hand are useless, like to spend other people's money and realy seem to enjoy getting into everyone's business. It must be a tactic to keep from doing any real work of their own.

Getting the masses to agree on a common problem or enemy, real or fabricated, has been an essential part of propaganda since time began.
While swine flu may be critical, its portrayal as such has taken many of the pressing issues facing this country off of the nightly news and the editorial pages.
We need Conservative Republicans so that Democrats can have heros.

Looks like media hype and mass hysteria now rule the day. All the best...

I thought swine flu was a non-event.
The virus gets weaker with each time it is passed on...... now they are saying it could become a PANDEMIC???!
There have been a few reported cases in Western Washington but most didn't even report it until after the fact. One family got sick and only reported it after their 4 month old baby was having a hard time getting over it. It must be HORRIBLE if you can get over it in a week without treatment.

A school fifty mile west of us has a confirmed case of swine flu.
This could get nasty.

Eric,
Its all media hype. Don't worry about it. SARS and this will be about the same, 10% death rate at the most. And the majority of that will be because of inadequate medical treatment.
What happened to the big threat of H5N1? You remember the one from the last couple years. It got old and the media stopped focusing on it.
The big important fact to remember about the flu in general as per the US government that the flu in the US alone:
Quote:: |
results in approximately 36,000 deaths and more than 200,000 hospitalizations each year. |
So really, is this "new" flu any worse then any other flu?

Sorry guys, the swine flu thing is all my fault. I said back in October, "The day they elect Obama as president is the day pigs fly!"
Now look----the swine flu.

I had Zach to the Doctor the other day, and I asked him about the Swine Flu.
He said that it has been around for a long time, and someone decided to isolate it, and then named it.
I then asked if it was a case of the liberals being in charge and going hyper over nothing.
He smiled and said yes.
Dimitri---you are right once again!!!!

Eric,
Remember by going to the doctor to take drugs for every little aliment you get your weakening your immune system. Because the drugs take over instead of your natural immune system to fight the sickness. There are times where drugs are needed. But best bet is to sit it out and let your body take care of the sickness naturally.
One reason I forsee problems with any real pandemic that may happen in the future is that many people have not let their immune system work for years. And when something comes up that will be hard even for drugs to deal, your immune system wont be ready to pick up the slack.

I will say D. that the meds taken for the AIDS virus has helped mortality by leaps and bounds.
I KNOW that I'm right on this one, because if this weren't the case, Obama would not have won the election and McCain would be President. {Do the math }
