Is this gun good quality or is it a cheap gun.
Thank you

if I remember correctly it resembles a f.n. commercial 98 so yes its quality and should shoot great can be bedded and triggers like timneys for a 98 will go on it. What I don't remember is if they are santa barbara's or f.n.'s if you remove it from the stock or give me a serial # I can tell you more.

alot of santa barbara's have a letter before the serial# and will be marked santa barbara or made in spain on the rear action tang below the wood line. f.n.'s may say MADE IN BELGIUM on the left side of the receiver or have belgium proofs like those found on brownings. or both and usually have 4 or 5 digit serials

I just checked with someone else and they think they were f.n.'s too, look for some proofs.

For all it worth,

I got a H&R Buffalo Classic,
I think it is a marvelous gun.

Don't know about their bolt actions tho..

I have an H&R Model 340 in 7x57mm. These rifles were made in Yugoslavia by Zastava. They are not as smooth or as nicely finished as an FN. They predated the Interarms bolt action rifles. Hope this helps. All the best...

Thanks Gil neither one of us was 100% on that maker but I'll try to file that away for future quizzes. We were sure it was 98 commercial though.
