Good Evening/Morning all,
I received some absolutely devastating news tonight. Earlier on this afternoon, about 5pm, my son in law was involved in a motorcycle accident. He was about 100m from home and he swerved to avoid something on the road...he struck a power pole and was very badly injured.
Broken pelvis, badly smashed leg, a gash from calf to hip on the inside of his leg and a ruptured femoral artery.
I think the worst part of it all is his eldest son, only 12 years old, heard the sirens and run up the street to see what was going on. He saw his Dad laying on the road all bent and broken and watched them put him in the Ambulance. He is devastated, as are his two younger brothers...9 and 5 years old respectively. It was his 5 year old son's birthday as well. Luckily there is a Grief Counsellor on tap for them.
He was rushed to hospital and they worked to stabilise him until about 11pm, then they sent him by Air Ambulance to a major hospital about four hours away. They gave him a 20% chance and sent every ounce of blood they had with him, but unfortunately we got word at about 1:30am that he didn't make it through the flight. He was only 30 yrs old.
So...Rest in Peace Steve Gatehouse, loving husband of Danielle, father of Zak, Byron and Kie, and a better Son in Law a man couldn't ask for. You will be badly missed mate.
There are many more crying for you mate, myself included. You will never be forgotten.
Vince

Mine as well big guy! It will take time and there is NO time line for grief. You all will be ready for things when YOU are ready for them same thing for his family.
Just tell them; and yourself, to do what you can and let others take up the rest! I will also pray each of you for the strength and piece of mind to be able to do what you all need to do.
Like I said; you have helped me deal with my bad stuff and it is my turn now to return those actions.
all my best to you and the family: MR. Vince

Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the whole family especially his eldest son. Time heals but nothing can replace the loss of a father but somehow the good memories work their way forward to help the healing process. Being the eldest son will bring on the responsibilities of caring for the family and I am sure he will step up to the task.
All of us here love you and send our strongest prayers.
