Saw a thread Bushy had posted a while back - I searched relentlessly for some Ranier data and found this on another website - haven't tried any of this - so I will throw down the standard cautionary disclaimer et. al. please always double check and cross reference other data.

(you may h'ave to set up a log-in/register) posted down towards the bottom by "Chief-7700"

With that said, I too have fell into the plated bullet group, between shelves being bare and stockpiles backordered, MidwayUSA had these for a decent price, bought a couple hundred projectiles and figured I would give them a go. Will try some 158gr flat nosed for my .357.

Hope this helps some folks. Enjoy and be safe!

I'm working on some 9mm loads now using the Rainier 124 gr HP. I want a less expensive load for training. I'll be comparing them to the Hornady XTP and Speer Gold Dot. My plan is to use the same powder charge and keep the combustion chamber the same size. To do this the three loads will have different OALs, because the bullets are different lengths. The bearing surfaces are also different but I don't have a good way to measure that accurately right now. When I get a chance to shoot them for accuracy and velocity I'll post the results.
