That sucker kicked my azz draggin' him out. We don't have a 4-wheeler. Last Saturday we had nearly 2 inches of rain, and it turned to snow Sunday mornin'. Took nearly 3 hours to get him out through the slop. We have to "check" our deer with the head attached, so packin' one out isn't an option (or else I would have gladly made the 3/4 mile trip more than once). The photo was taken just after I checked him, dragged him back to the barn, and hoisted him up. I was DONE! Plus, the battery in my digital was dead. The look on my ugly mug is of disgust at the photog's inability to take a picture with a digital camera that has a discharged battery. I guess I am kinda tough on my wife!!!

I finally got that buck back this week. He's not much as far as scoring, but I like to keep "milestone" trophys. This is my first crossbow buck.

Looks great your taxidermist did a fine job . I have two small eights mounted that most people wouldn't have mounted but they were trophy's to me. Congrats !!

Thanks Joe.....
I judge a taxidermist's work by a very strict set of criteria taught to me by my Grandfather....
"It oughta look like the rest of the critter is on the other side of the wall..."
Except for the "shine" on this one's antlers, I think it qualifies....
