My preference is for the 16 gauge for small game and upland hunting. Over the years, I have managed to locate a few very nice 16 gauge shotguns. Ammo is not a problem since I reload and just bought all the 16 gauge shells at the local K-Mart for $3.79 a box. Anyone else prefer the 16 gauge? All the best...

Blaserman,
I work for a chain of nursing homes and we have places in Hagerstown and Baltimore. From time to time I get down for site visits. Thanks for the offer, I may take you upon it. All the best...

I have an orginal SWEET SIXTEEN. I use it for doves, and rabbits. I used to use it for ducks over decoys before the law on lead shot changed. I love it.

I have an original Sweet 16 as well ..
Nice .. I'm glad the 16 is making a comeback .
From the 70's thru the 90's , all the advances that made lighter 12's and better performing 20's pretty well squeezed the 16 out ..
Also have a sweet shooting 16 ga 11-48 ..
Jack

This morning I stopped at the local gun shop to drink coffee, eat donuts and chat. The owner had just gotten in a Stevens Model 5100 16 gauge SXS double with a single trigger in excellent condition. I have been looking for years for an affordable American-made 16 gauge double. We haggled a bit an for $250.00 the gun was mine. I cleaned it and stripped some varnish off the stock and handguard and applied boiled linseed oil and then a coat of Tru-Oil. The stock and handguard are real walnut and have cut checkering. Seems an old fellow just sold the gun and said he bought it in the 1940s. It has a great home. All the best...
