I read Dallan's report in the Important Announcements and noted the comment about "friends visiting and trashing the website". Is this the start of it all?

In visiting a range of forums, it becomes apparent that there are some that are juvenile in their approach and discussions. These are characterized by the constant emoting and bickering between posters; almost all posting is done with ego involvement. Other forums are very factual and impersonal, however, our little forum maintains a balance that continues to attract new members and satisfies the need for information sharing and learning as well as being good natured and fun. Mature.

The recent tirades we have witnessed, we find out of place and rightly so. Constantly dragging personality issues into content is a symptom associated with runny noses, acne and leftist politicians. Too, their expertise is largely from imagination and reading the works of others; it exhibits little in the way of real experience and it offers nothing new in moving discussions forward. Challeged on their content or questioned on their sources, there will seldom be a response other than indignation or personal justifications. IMO, such posters are best ignored. Like little children, they will manipulate, taunt and do anything to get recognition and it matters little if it is positive or negative. But, ignored and denied an audience, they wither and go away. Some already have. Good.
