Not sure if this is the right place for this, but it seemed to be to me. I bought a box of Fiocchi 38special ammo yesterday, and went to try it out in my Taurus M85 ultralight today. I had 3 of the 50 rounds misfire. Actually they wouldn't fire at all. I would load the cylinder, then start shooting. There was a misfire in the first 5. Ok I thought, I pulled it out and put it into my pocket. Next 5, another one. WTF I was thinking.....so another 5, and all went through fine. Next 5, another one...junk i thought. I put that in my pocket with the other 2, and shot the remainder with no problems. I put the three in the cylinder and looked at them closely. They were longer than the cylinder was deep...WTF??? I compared them to some differant 38specials I had in the house.....the bullets weren't seated fully. I would shoot until I got to the defective one, then the cylinder wouldn't rotate to the next round. I'm glad I didn't have them loaded to carry. Anyone ever have any problems like this? I bought the cheapo stuff, $14 for the 50 just for plinking. I usually get the $18-$20 winchester, but opted for the cheaper stuff this time. Last time I ever buy Fiocchi ammo.

From left to right:
38special handload wadcutter
38special handload wadcutter
Fiocchi 38 special
UMC 357 semi-wadcutter

You can see the crimp on the Fiocchi bullet. I should have saved a good one to do a side to side comparison picture with, but I didn't think of it at the time. The Fiocchi is a FMJ 158gr.

Cody

I don't believe that I would put a round that wouldn't fire in my pocket.

That could be real trouble.

Just my thoughts
