Let's say I break into your house
A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials
in ages!!! It explains things better than all
the baloney you hear on TV.
Her point:
Recently large demonstrations have taken place
across the country protesting the fact that Congress
is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that
the US might protect its own
borders, might make it harder
to sneak into this country and,
once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand
the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover
me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "No! I like it here.
It's better than my house. I've made all
the beds and washed the
dishes and did the laundry
and swept the floors. I've
done all the things you don't
like to do. I'm hard-working
And honest
(except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters:
You are Required to let me stay in your house
You are Required to feed me
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
You are Required to Educate my kids
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family
(my husband will do all of your yard work because
he is also hard-working and honest, except for that
breaking in part).
If you try to call the police or force me out,
I will call my friends who will picket your
house carrying signs that proclaim my
RIGHT to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have
a nicer house than I do, and I'm just
trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working
and honest, person, except for well,
you know, I did break into your house
And what a deal it is for me!!!
I live in your house, contributing only a
fraction of the cost of my keep, and
there is nothing you can do about it
without being accused of cold,
Uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and
bigoted behavior.
Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn
MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can
communicate with me.
Why can't people see how ridiculous
this is?! Only in America

ACH....I am Pedro (really Acchhmed...ssshhh)...I break into your house.... I KEEL YOU...no sorry...I want to take over your country, make it mine...NO, NO sorry....live here...in your house with you....I am welcome, no.
Pedro....I am Vince....you have broken into my "castle" .....these are my friends, Smith & Wesson and Winchester . They want you to leave....... RIGHT NOW!!! What's that you say? You do not understand English....thats ok, my friends speak a universally understood language ....Messrs Smith & Wesson and Winchester....let Pedro know he is not nice or wanted here in my house!!
(insert here sounds of aforementioned friends clearing "their" throats and "talking" to Pedro [really Acchhmed... ssshhh] followed by sounds of friends preparing for another "chat")
I can't for love nor money understand why the American citizens have allowed the Governments, both State and Federal, let this passive invasion from the south occur. Got me stuffed.
Cheers, Vince

there is something called squatters right here in Oz too..
I was going to buy a piece of land back in the beginning of the 90s but because I live and work in the city and cannot visit often, I was told not to because of this similar problem If someone built a house in your property and you do not stop them, then they will get a legal squatters right.
Somethin like this happened in a park somewhere in Oz city and the bloke GOT ON TV and brag about it.
goddam lawyers etc and bleeding hearts, legal robbery it is methinks!!

I am extreme right on this subject. I want ALL illegals out of this country. And we can do it by attrition. No need to go looking for them, but as we run across them ship'em out...And I don't care if the do have kids born in this country. Use a cattle car and ship'em out.
However I am for some kind of workers permit...Oh...That's right...We already have one. Called a "Green Card". We just have to upgrade and modernize the system. That's all.

I hear ya Bushy...........the sad thing is that this viewpoint is considered the extreme right when it is just common sense. Of course a lot of things on the right are common sense.

1.) I walk into my house and someone is there that shouldn't be, my .38 is coming out of it's holster and they'll be dead. No matter who it is.
2.) Boot 'em ALL out. They're taking away jobs, housing and our tax dollars by being on welfare.
3.) Learn thier language? NO!!! They need to learn ours. The only language I feel compelled to learn is that of the real Americans. (You know, the ones that were here first).
If they don't want to get out then give them a permenant job... as fertilizer!!!

It surely beats me why we've allowed this situation with illegal aliens to develop. When I walk into a factory in rural NC and have to have an interpreter so I can talk to the operators something is sure the hell wrong. By the way, at shift change I have to find a different interpreter. Seems that day shift all spoke Spanish while evening shift was all Thai or Cambodian!

Hey Gelan.....methinks someone p1ssed in your pocket and told you it was raining mate. Perchance, the guy that told you this isn't the owner of that piece of land now is he?
Squatters do have some rights, but its not as easy as you make it out to be. Have a bit of a read up on it mate....the true owner of the land has plenty of power to evict squatters and retain ownership. I have heard three different periods for a squatter to claim ownership of the piece of land on which he is squatting...11 years, 12 years and 30 years. I would have to do a lot of reading of laws and statutes to actually confirm the exact ruling.
Whichever way mate....that is a long time for them to stay hidden so they can't get evicted. As soon as you identify any sort of improvement on YOUR property, especially something as simple as a track, fence, gate or similar, that YOU didn't do then you should be looking to see who is responsible for said improvement. If you were to find a squatter then he would need to prove how long he had been there and justify his claim on your property. In the meantime I would be beating his head rather severely and evicting his butt into the next State or bottom of a strainer post hole. There is more than one way to "skin a cat" mate.

Gentlmen, gentlemen, gentlemen,
Open your eyes and see that the world is changing.
We are becoming global.
Open your arms and greet your new neighbours with love.
Shower them them with gifts.
Let them into your lives and share this great experience of life.
Learn new languages, taste new foods,
Accept new cultures and religions
And embrace change, the new fututre
Or go the way of the dinosaur
