I was in a gun shop last week and thought I saw a Remingtom 788 on the used gun rack. Turns out it was a Remington Sportsman 78 in .270 Win. and I got it for $210.00 out the door. The gun appears to be unfired and it now wears a 3X-9X scope. Hope to get it sighted in for opening day of deer season next week. All the best...
Gil

Prefect timing for a new rifle! And again your deals you manage to find are pretty good! Very Happy

Nice catch!!!

i dont know if this is impressive but i assume most of u know what a Goose Gun is, as The Original Marlin Goose gun with 36" barrel full choke 3" magnum chamber. We got that used in very good condition for $150 a few years ago now thats a big thumper for the gooses and maybe deer since thats what were thinking about using, what u guys think, 36" bbl 3" magnum chamber, we will make our custom buckshoot, my dad says we should be able to get them out to 50 m easy. i believe him but what would u say.

again great buy, i prefer used guns in excellent condition, atleast u dont have to shoot em in.

Dan

Dan,

I think rifled slugs will work better then the buckshot, I know many use it for deer hunting but I've heard too many first hand accounts of it simply not penetrating enough on deer even at closer ranges.
