Dimitri: me carried away! yeah, probably. But, I thought a counterpoint was appropriate.

In my view, our fellow shooters often create many of the problems and consequences with which we must deal. Whether it be the minority that have ethic problems hunting or simply the target shooter that wants to use public land to blast away at targets that are seldom retrieved and, then, left to litter the landscape, I believe we need some serious hunter and shooter education. In fact, a case could be made for it to be mandatory, yet, in so doing it opens the Pandora's box to Big Brother increased oversight, a worse situation.

Forums like this provide for discussion and mutual education. We all have probably mentored others into the sport and passed along the traditional ethics of fair chase, of marksmanship and of sportsmanship. Still, more needs to be done. Tracers don't fit the program, IMHOpinion.
