I've never used Barnes because of the high cost although they're reputed to be excellent bullets. I use Speer for hunting game deer size and larger. I also like the Nosler Partitions. I notice Nosler has reverted to the flat base bullets in their Ballistic Tips larger than 6mm. This is supposed to be quite an improvemet. There were a lot of complaints about Nosler Bal. Tips having jackets that were too thin for the job. There's an excellent article in August's Field & Stream by David Petzal that covers just about all the hunting bullets we use in terms of the pros and cons. It clears up a lot of ussies we might have doubts about. Best wishes.

If I'm going for acuracy, which is most often the case I really like the Sierra Match Kings. They shoot the most consistently of any bullet out there and they have the wins at the big matches to prove it. For Big game Nosler makes some of the best bullets out there. For varmint Nosler Ballistic tips are hard to beat.

My favorite brand varies by caliber although I voted for Nosler. I use their partitions in my 35 Whelen and their ballistic tips in my 243.I sure am glad I am not limited to one manufacturer though! For my 44 mags,357 mags and 45 ACP I use remington bulk bullets,they are a good bullet at a great price.My deer load for my 270 uses the hornaday SST,simply deadly. I use hornaday bullets in my 358 Win Encore pistol also. I use Sierra bullets in my 223 and my deer load for 35 whelen.For the 45-70 its 400 grain speers. I guess the only bullet on the list I dont use is Barnes,that may change someday.

Depends on the catridge.
7mm Mag = North Fork
.300 Win Mag = North Fork
.45-70 = North Fork
.257 Roberts = V-MAX for Varmints, TSX and A-Frame for larger
.22-250 = V-MAX
.30-30 = Speer
.375Win = Hornady

Hey everybody, just joined the site
My favorite bullet is definitely the Barnes TSX. Only have one gun out of 18 that I reload for that hasn't shot the TSX so well that I haven't looked somewhere else. That gun is a lightweight Sauer 30-06 that is not very accurate. Have shot everything through it including the Sierra MK and the Nosler BT and found that in fact it does shoot the TSX best, just not very well.
What's up with only having 8 KB for the avatar?

For .224 and .243 I prefer eithter Nosler Bal. Tips or Sierra HPBTs. By the time I get to 6.5mm I go with the Horneady 129gr. Above that Speer is my bullet of choice in most weights. Of course a lot depends on what you're hunting. Best wishes.

I have had such good luck with Speer Bullets, I just have not had a reason to change. The .257 100 grain SP are great on varmints and antelope while the .338 200 grain SP have given me excellant results on deer.
Most of my handgun shooting uses hard cast lead bullets LASERCAST brand.

I have several preferences based on the caliber and what the bullets will be used for. Maybe another poll with a second or third choice would be useful. All the best...

I love Hornady V-max in my varmit .308. Everything else is nosler. They have been good to me. The prices are great also. USA Midway. and www.natchezss.com usually have great prices on both.
