Sorry if this isn't in the right catagory, but I didin't know where else to put it.

I am looking for someone to load me some 22 Hornet ammo. Nothing fancy, just a 45gr soft point. I am looking for 500 rounds?? If anyone on here is willing to do this, please either contact me with a pm, or just reply to this post. Please include a price also. I won't need it until June, but preferably sooner. Thank You in advance.

Hi Cody

Sounds like you have an affair with the 22 Hornet. Its a wonderful and flexible round, for sure.

A general unwritten rule is never use someone else's reloads and never reload for someone else. All of the blowup guns we see are the result of reloads and, often, they are sourced from someone other than the shooter. And, therein, lies a problem. Liability.

Each rifle has significant variations in throat length, bore diameter, headspace and other matters. Tailoring a handload for specific rifles takes these variances into account and, done properly, will produce superior ammo. Done improperly, dangerous situations could arise.

Getting the equipment to reload doesn't cost a fortune. There are a lot of inexpensive tools on the job to get someone set up for a modest amount of cash. Space isn't a problem, either, as much reloading equipment can be mounted on portable stands and simply clamped into place for useage, stored until needed again. Learning to reload correctly is fairly easy with all the information, such as Lyman #48's manual, the first 110 pages.

Is that a route you can take?

Well, my grandpa has all RCBS reloading equiptment, but he is losing his eyesight. We are going out to Montana in July prairie dog hunting, but he can't see well enough up close to reload Sad He has all the brass, primers, powder, and lead, but it doesn't do me a lot of good. I am going to start experimenting with reloading this summer, but probably not sooner. Do you know of any websites to purchase ammo fairly cheaply on? Thank you for your reply Handloader.

Codybrown, Cabelas and Midsouth Shooters Supply have the best deal but shipping is another matter.
Need to find someone you know and trust to reload for you if possible..........cuts cost in half and better ammo. The key is someone you know and trust.

Ammo is going up very fast. So is the price of components. However I can get you some 22H ammo for reasonable price. PM if interested.
Some one loading for you is not the answer! They will load 50rounds or more at a time and if it doesnt shoot well you iether have to pull it apart to save the components or take your buddy to the range with his loading equipment and work up a load there. I take my Dillon with me some times and mount it to my truck tailgate... I have almost been divorced twice Very Happy because the wife thought I was leaving her to move in to the range house.... Shocked

Codybrown,
get your grand dad to teach you how. He can be the knowledge and you can be his eyes and muscle. You get to learn to reload and he gets to feel useful. You both get something valuable out of the experience.

Thank you Paul. That's what I'm planning on doing this summer, but I needed the ammo before that.

You can learn what you need to know from him in a few afternoons. You will have bullets after the first half-hour. There is no need to wait. But if you want reloads prepared for you there are several on-line suppliers of reloaded ammunition. It is against the law for an individual reload ammunition commercially without a license. If anyone does reload ammo for you they are putting themselves in danger of being placed in jail or sued by you or your family in the event that something goes wrong.
