sirs,
where if any can a person fing forums on 1000 yd plus shooting?
i am building a 300 ultra mag for deer and groundhogs and maybe a possible elk trip to colarado in 2008.

Hi Nick, welcome to hunting nut. You can try "snipershide.com". They have a lot of great info and they try to help the long range newcomer out quite a bit. Word of warning, don't try to pose as something you arn't and I'm sure you'll get the "try the search forum button" Also take a look at the "for the new guys " topic in the Bear Pit. you'll know what I mean when you get on the site. First, Welcome to HuntingNut Forums.

This is a new forum dedicated to long range hunting. Rick Horst (WyoWhisper) can probably answer your questions or direct you to another member of the forum that would be helpfull.
Precision Long Range Hunter forums

The Varmint Hunters Association gives awards for witnessed kills at 500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 yds. You might be able to hook up with some of the members that shoot those ranges at varminthunters.com fourms.
