I took my wife in today for a biopsy . We won't have the results for about ten days. It would be appreciated if you would think of her healthy and happy if you have the time.

We have put it into the hands of the creator and fully expect the best possible outcome.

So far we have decided to let it lie until we get the biopsy report. There are too many counter points for cancer.
It caused pain and cancer doesn't do that until it is in the latter stages - this is only a month old. When the biopsy was taken there was no blood - cancer always bleeds and even the doctor thought she would have to cauterize it, nope! no bleeding.It looked red and healthy on the inside not the color of a tumor.
At any rate it is in God's hands... and we are good friends.
I may be an irreverent reverend but we talk often.

Stressful times Paul, I wish you both the best.
It is pointless fretting (but bloody near impossible not to) about the possible results of the tests.
In my own experience with cancer, get the facts, diagnonsis and proposed treatment regime and go from there.
If it is cancer, everyone is different, they wont tell you all the possible side effects of the treatment (seems to stop people going catatonic with shock or running screaming out the door) and they will just deal with what does occur.
Both of you go to the doctor, specialist and oncology appointments, take notes lots of info with long names and you both will be somewhat distracted and worried.
Stay positive, this is very important.

Well, we got the results and is malignant, we have surgery on the morning of the third.
My wife started out taking real hard but we have talked it out so she is functioning but I can tell she is worried.
I have no doubt that it will be just one operation because it is a skin cancer that doesn't often go into the body. She might have to have a body map done so we can detect it if it should come back. She spent a lot of her youth in the southern states and liked the beaches in Florida so she got her fair share of UV.
The only thing we can do is cut it off if it comes up again. It doesn't seem to be life threatening but it will limit her time in the sun.
Thanks for the prayers guys and God willng this will be the end of it.

Compared to what the news could have been, this seems like relatively positive news. Now to stay on top of it. Updates when you can. Prayers will keep coming.

I’ve been there myself Paul and have a bald spot on the side of my face to remind me. I’ve had several Squamous Cell Carcinomas excised, one of which resulted in radiotherapy and the bald spot.

Melanoma if caught early is well treatable mate, so don’t let SWMBO get too down mate...just be there for her and pray that things go well, as will we.
