I just had to report my AR15 stolen. Sad
I just got it shooting right. I went down and bought two to replace it and I am hopeful about getting it back.
Now I have to work up a load that will work in my two new ARs

BASTARD. With some luck the thieving mongrel will have left something behind to identify him and you will get your rifle back...and the dirtbag will go to jail.

My son has had his guns stolen twice. One was a from someone who had been in his house and new where he hid the gun (not recovered). The second time it was a week before he was deployed to Afghanistan from N Carolina. All his guns were in a safe that was almost too heavy for two guys to install so he didn't bolt it to his hardwood floors. Three guys broke in and stole the entire safe. One of his AR-15 was recovered in Maryland when I guy was firing into the air during a domestic dispute. Maryland wanted him to personally pick the AR up but he got the State Police to transfer it to an FFL. So out of 4 guns, only one was returned.

On the safe being bolted down,,,,, had a friend whose safe was stolen ,, the thief's tried a chain around it and tore out two inside walls and three doors,,,,tried the chain to a truck dragged it a couple miles down the road and took a torch too it ,,,,,,the sides are not that hard too get into.....

No sign of forced entry - it was likely taken when I walked into the house for some reason and didn't lock the door because I was coming right back.

I don't feel violated or upset that it was taken - more worried that it might be used to hurt someone. I wasn't "attached" to the gun and it was still new enough that I had just settled on a decent load. I do have to start that process again but it won't take as long this time.

I hate it when that happens. Hope your gun is recovered and returned to you in decent condition. My gunsmith showed me a Browning Hi-Power handgun that was stolen and recovered by police several years later. It was in terrible condition when the owner got it back. The gunsmith was asked to reblue and refurbish it. All the best...

A family friend we knew went on a couple week hunting trip. While he was gone, someone broke into the house, cut a huge hole in the living room floor with a chain saw, rigged up supports, block and tackle etc and winched his massive 88 gun safe up from the basement. Then they cut a hole through the kitchen wall into the garage and worked it out into a truck and made off it it.

It would have taken several days work to do all of that. Pretty crazy and extreme.

Locks, safes and barricades only keep honest people honest.
A determined thief will find a way and a time.
I was lucky, just one gun and none of the expensive tools or equipment.

I just got a call from the local police...
They have my gun!!! Smile
The only bad news was - it was painted black. It had been dark earth but that is ok.
It was not used to shoot anyone but I have no idea how it was recovered. If it is not needed for evidence I will have it back in three days or so but If they need to hang on to it for the trial it could be a month or more. Sad
The important thing is that it was not used to hurt anyone and I am getting it back. YEA! Smile
