I have been reading a bunch of the stories on the internet about this subject and just thought it would be nice to see what everyone else thinks. I feel that until I personally see one I won't believe they exist and I'm certainly not about to lose any sleep in Elk camp, even if I go by myself again, for whatever reason. Smile

What is everyone elses thoughts about this subject? I'm not talking about some of you guys with size 12 or larger feet, but I mean the Sasquatch critter that some seem to think exists. Here in Sask there have only been a few siteings, lots in Alberta and British Columbia, but in some States like Colorado for example there have been many. What do you think, B.S. or what and what would you do if you did happen to see one, if you think they do exist???????????? wtf Smile

Bigfoot,

They dont exist, :-D, they like deer antlered rabbits are stories people pass down that I think started with a person who drank alittle too much Very Happy

Now if they were more comman and did exist (To keep this hunting related) and people have actually proved it I wonder if they arnt listed as big game does that mean they have no limits because they are varmint ?? Confused

We call them Yowies here in Australia.

I've never seen one, nobody has been able to prove they exist, but neither have they been able to prove they don't exist. I suppose the easiest way is to keep an open mind. Confused

I know we are still finding new critters out in the wild, but I think that something as big as the Yowie/Bigfoot/ Yeti would have surfaced in one way or another well before this, even if only in skeleton or fossil form.

I suppose that the jury is still out, but I am not confident that they really exist.

Maybe they are hunting us when we are out there....hmmmmm. wtf

Cheers, Vince

Bigfoot, Nah! Everyone knows they don't exist. Even at that, I do have a picture of one. It was taken in January 1995 in the upper Yaak river valley in N.W. Montana just short of the B.C. border. I'm pretty sure it was a Canadian one. They do look pretty cool though.--tr

According to a recient news story, they not only exist but a group of explorers have been filming a documentary on them... now this isnt the traditional "sasquatch" most people believe in but rather, a group of undiscovered primates in the jungles near the Amazon river. According to the article the researchers wanted to film them in their natural states before word gets out and the place is over-run by new explorers and scientists.

They said their documentary should be released later this year... time will tell if they are faking or really found something good.

What?? Me worry??? As far as I know they have never attacked a human. With that in mind I really don't mind sharing the mountains with them. Do I believe that they exist? Yes. But a bit before my time though. "Giant apithicus"?

From www.bfro.net/ and Wikipedia:

There have been in the US:

Washington 389 Sightings, California 334 Sightings, Oregon 189 Sightings, Ohio 185 Sightings, Texas 152 Sightings. Confused

In Canada British Columbia leads with 67 fallowed by Ontario with 27. wtf

I myself dont belive in bigfoot, if someone finds one and brings it back as the old saying goes "Dead or alive" I might be inclined to belive Very Happy

Some "evidance" they list which could have been proven a hoax or not based on a little DNA test that was never done (They were in the 80's). Smile

Quote::
Hair samples collected at the scene and from the cast itself and examined by Dr. Henner Fahrenbach, a biomedical research scientist from Beaverton, Ore., were primarily of deer, elk, coyote, and bear, as was expected since tracks in the wallow were mostly of those animals. However, based on characteristics matching those of otherwise indeterminate primate hairs collected in association with other Sasquatch sightings, he identified a single distinctly primate hair as “Sasquatch.”

Quote::
Hair samples were also taken from a house located on the Lummi Indian reservation in Washington. Three more samples were retrieved from Maryland, Oregon and California. Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Ellis R. Kerley and Physical Anthropologist Dr. Stephen Rosen of the The University of Maryland, as well as Tom Moore, the Supervisor of the Wyoming Game and Fish Laboratory, examined the hair samples and stated that all the hair samples matched in terms of belonging to a "non species specific mammal". They concurred in finding that the four sets matched each other, were similar to gorilla and human but were neither, and they did not match 84 other species of North American mammals. ("The Bigfoot Evidence", pp22-29, Frontiers of Science Magazine, Vol. III, no.3, May 1981).

Quote::
Blood associated with the sample from Idaho was tested by Dr. Vincent Sarich of the University of California and found to be that of an unknown higher primate. ("The Bigfoot Evidence", pp22-29, Frontiers of Science Magazine, Vol. III, no.3, May 1981). DNA testing was not performed in any of these situations however.

Belive what you want. Smile I myself if they did a DNA test to say if it was a real one would belive it more but till the DNA test comes that can be varified by several different labs I am going to be a non-beliver Cool

I know a guy that said he seen one, it hung around his place for about a week, scared the hell out of his family, He still ain't the same. A Big Foot Specialist even came to his house and took a sample of crap..WOW the poor guy really thinks they are real. For me I don't know, never seen one don't care. For a while after this happened I was a little freaked out walking to my stand before daylight. I hunt about a mile from his place. It makes you think.

Interesting. I think I would've had to go looking for it if it would have been my buddy's place, rifle in hand of course. I read that in some states, it is or would be against the law (if a Bigfoot did exsist) to shoot one. I don't know of a law like that here but I would imagine no matter where you were some people would be upset if one was shot. Like you 10ring, I don't think it would stop me though. Very Happy

1895,

My take on Bigfoot is that its a varmint myself if they do exist. Cool No limits, no seasons, no caliber restrictions. Evil or Very Mad

Reason ?? They arnt a reconigized big game species so what else under the law can they be ?? Confused
