Oh, btw, I’ve been using 1” target spots for the .300 and 2” for the .270. It seems to work

Slim,

The difference is in the scpoes. The .270 came with Bushnell 3-9x40 Engage. I don't care for it, but it's not my rifle. I tried using it with smaller sighting points, but it didn't seem to work.

The .300 is wearing a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40. 1" spots work nicely, I usually dial it down to around 10x to fit the reticle
