my good wee stihl chainsaw had loose chain so I thought to do swicharoony with other saw thats older but same size as it had newer bar n chain.
well got all bits apart and sorted out the older saw with old bar n chain from spares box, reassembled and stowed away. switched the quick tensioner onto bar and sorted it out,got chain on and tension about right then turned around to pick up the side cover off garage floor to complete job.
Scratch Scratch Scratch ok it was just there on floor where I picked up saw from Scratch ,nope not in sight, not under bench with other saw Mad Mad not knocked behind freezer that I was working on Mad Mad
I was thinking the men in white coats were about to come see me and take me away to padded room Sad Sad
where the blue blazers is it Mad Mad
looked in all the same places again...... then looked outside on lawn
Shocked there it is out in middle of lawn with Meg looking guilty Scratch
then penny dropped, last week I quartered a cattle beast with that saw and had given it a reasonable clean...but my lovely pooch thought she needed to finish off the job giving it a lick n polish Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
all reassembled and stowed away now.

You butcher with a chainsaw? Just how large are your cattle?

So big they have to use 5 trailers towed by a single cab to get 10 cows to market!

rising two year old freisian heifer
chainsawed her down the backbone and used knife to whack each half in half again.....each quarter was as much as I could lift with assistance from butcher to hang on hook to slide into chiller.

she had made mistake of trying to jump across a cattle stop ( railway irons sideways across shallow ditch with small gap between them, you can drive over them but stock cant) the boss called up home kill butcher and he wanted to make her wait till the next day Shocked Shocked
so I called boss on R.T.and said I would take care of it, then went home grabbed .308 and some knives and put the poor heifer out of her misery A.S.A.P. then skinned her and hung her up on forks of tractor overnight.
