Only place I ever served where there are two people to a rack. Called "hot bunking".

Yup...Targets...Right. The second ship I served on was the USS Charles Berry (DE-1035) home ported in Pearl. We were sent on many occasions out to hunt for the USS Plunger a fast attack submarine. She never got by us. We found her everytime. The Charles Berry was an "anti submarine warfare destroyer equiped with VDS (Variable depth sonar). Target...Yup.

That didn't matter. Our job was to find her and stop her (this was a drill) from entering the harbor. We usually found her 20 miles out in DEEP water.
