Nikon decided to kill their “Buckmasters” line of scopes. These were the midlevel scopes above the Prostaff stuff and just below Monarch. I put one on my boys 7mm08 several years ago and I’ve been really impressed with it, clear... holds zero, been happy with it. I have Nikon “P223” scopes on both AR15s which are pretty much the Buckmasters under a different name. Nikon added BDC reticles for 2015 but the line didn’t sell as well as the cheaper, or more expensive lines so Nikon decided to stop production and only sell the Prostaff / Monarch lines.

Anywho, this guy is blowing out the discontinued line of brand new mid-level Nikon Buckmasters, prices seem to range from $100 to $130 for the 3-9's and 4-12's (I got a 4-12 yesterday for $126, and my boy just won one today for $127)

Those are nice, inexpensive scopes. I've got about 4 of them with BDC reticles and they work great. It's weird my eyesight has changed over the years and now I'm taking scopes off of short range rifles and using their iron sights. I love it, it's a whole new world and a lighter weight rifle when you do that.

I wish.
My eyesight is still changing, used to be just needed reading glasses, I could still shoot with open sights.
Then chemo and radiation and my distance vision decided it would go the way my close vision went, couldn't focus on the forsight or the target.
Now I need scopes, but hate wearing glasses with them.
Lots of glassing with binos or looking through the scope at possible targets.
I'm told the changes finish near 60. Oh goody, now I'm old......

That figures.....I turned 60 this year, so now it goes backwards I suppose....along with other aging problems it just brings you right back to where you were in the beginning. Ya...oh goodie...

Yea my eyes are crappy too, I have to have a scope to keep everything in focus. I've got 1x on my muzzleloader, everything from 3x to 20x on various rifles.

My eyes started to go about 20 years ago. At first it was just for reading and then also for distance. Now with bifocals, when using iron sights, I have a choice of seeing the rear sight, the front sight or the target, but never any combination. Peep sights work a lot better for me on rifles. Handguns aren't as big of a problem either, I guess because they're held at arms length, but still not nearly as good as when I was in my 20s.
Back to the subject, I have several Nikon Buckmasters scopes and they've all worked very well, never a problem with them. The only downside for me is that they always seemed a bit on the heavy side compared to other scopes of the same magnification.
