Finally had some time to take out my camera and take some pictures.

Took more, but was fairly impressed with my up close, non-flash pictures. The other pictures turned out fine a swell, but something about these two made Anna and I admire them.

Nikon FE 50mm f/1.8D with Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400, scanned to 16Base images.

Currently shooting a roll of Ilford XP2 (B&W) though.

Mmmm.
The gloss worn off married life already, and the lego came out of the cupboard?
Shouldnt those photos be of the new improved reloading bench?

Just kidding, hope all is going well.

While XP2 is pretty good, Delta 400 might give you much sharper image, and HP5 give you much more greater latitude, if the processor know what they are doing.
I dont really like C-41 process b/w since they do not give as good contrast as the pure B/W process.

Elvis, the new Star Wars movie Lego sets and toys are being released in two days on "Force Friday". Including one I got an advance set and reviewed.

www.northerndtool.com/...niumfalcon

Officially none of these sets were supposed to be released. Actually Lego has kept the lid shut on the matter by having websites take down pictures and materials relating to the sets. They did fairly well, but people have intentionally released some grainy pictures early. And some, like a Walmart near my place, put sets on the shelf early accidently.

Actually Pete, we have been building Lego's together since almost the time we met. Like 5 days after we met we built our first set which is still in my glass cabinet.

Tikka, yes, there is a canteen section near by, not quite happy with it's execution yet. Hence no pictures.

Gelan, I have never shot black and white film. Picked up XP2 at a whim just because a store I was browsing only had that in black and white. I should have went to Downtown Camera for the film (huge selection), but I was in Mississauga doing other shopping and had that itch.

I really want to try their SPX IR films with a #72 or #87 filter. But locally sourcing such a filter is proving to be impossible, might have to order it online sometime.

In the mean time, I picked up a used Olympus T-32 Flash unit from DC, and it has automatic modes that do not rely on TTL which my FM and FE both don't have. Seeing as I've never used a flash on anything but a Digital Camera or point and shoot 35mm. I am curious how the pictures will turn out on the roll of film I shot between these Lego pictures and the B&W.

Yeah...what Gelan said. Scratch Scratch

Got the Lego out mate...preparing to help the wee ones with their games... good stuff. A word of warning mate...make sure EVERY piece of Lego is picked up and put away when you are finished playing. There is nothing worse than getting up in the middle of the night to go for a 'wee' walk and stepping on a Lego piece with bare feet...Lego seems to grow spikes during the night, just waiting for you to tread on them.
