Thats a fairly typical posture in those circumstances.
Hope she didnt have any permanent injuries.

Since the rifle obviously didn't cycle on a squib round she had to reload manually unless she was at rhe end of the last clip and this was the start of a new one. I saw the same thing happen with an SKS but with much less dramatic results.
As an afterthought since the M1 ejects the clip and locks open she had to must have manually recocked after the cycle failure.

I've seen similar videos involving ARs. One reason I decided against the "forward assist".

How tragic. When a semi-auto fails to function one should stop firing and clear the weapon immediately. The shooter was very fortunate, but appears to be untrained to fire a semi-auto. All the best...
