Had an interesting trip home from my daughter's place last night (she lives in a place called Toogoolawah, a country region).

I decided to go home through the back-blocks and the mountains (in between Somerset Dam and Wivenhoe Dam Pete, heading for Mount Glorious). Sitting on 60 mph on a deserted back road in the middle of nowhere, with two of my grandsons in the car (9 and 14), when a small blue light, jumping around, appeared in the middle of the road. wtf Confused This blue light suddenly turned into a scantily clad young lady (short short baggy sports shorts and small tank top) holding up her iPhone, jumping, and waving it about to attract my attention. Then two more young ladies appeared (similarly clad) on the side of the road. Thank God for superior brakes on my Volvo 960 and especially ABS. I stood the car almost on its nose to avoid having said scantily clad girlie as a hood ornament and stopped about 10 feet short of where she was standing...of course she had been drinking.

Turns out the three girls (late teens early 20's) were from a wedding reception at a resort retreat up in the mountains a few miles back, and for some reason their battery had died. Bit strange because their car (a hundred or so yards down the road and off to the side) is a late model Suzuki. Anywayz, with alarm bells merrily ringing away in the back of my head, I stayed in my car, in gear, left foot on the brake and right foot hovering over the accelerator, and asked what they needed. I had a good look around and moved up to their car...no sign of anybody else and they seemed genuine, so I stopped to assist...well I couldn't leave them out in the middle of nowhere with very spasmodic cell phone reception at best. We broke out the jumper leads, got the car started for them, and then it got "interesting". Scantily clad girlie #1 decided that I was the nicest and kindest guy in the world and for helping them I deserved much hugging and kissing. She then wrap herself around me. Very Happy Surprised Very Happy Another of the girls did the same to my 14 (nearly 15) yr old grandson. I am sure, had I been a less than reputable man, things could have become extremely interesting to say the least. As "pleasant" as it was with said nubile young lady embracing and smothering me with kisses, it was becoming a little embarrassing... Embarassed Embarassed ...remember I am a 62 yr old married grandfather with two of his grandsons with him...I felt the need to gently and carefully extract myself from said embrace, trying not to touch anything I shouldn't. I managed to "break free" only to receive the same treatment from one of the other young ladies (why don't these sort of things happen when a guy is young and single? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ).

Again, I went through the motions of extracting myself (almost reluctantly Sad Embarassed Embarassed Cool ) and got them all into their car. The third young lady - the driver - had not been drinking and was able to control her emotions in the presence of such a magnificent specimen as myself, thanked me and turned the car around to head back to the Retreat. Once I was sure their car was going OK, I got back on the road home.

A most interesting diversion on the trip home. Oh yeah, and cruising along at 50mph, I barely missed a cow ambling across the road, minding her own business. All in all, a reasonable 150 kilometre trip home. Very Happy Very Happy Laughing Laughing Laughing

Nah...I beat them to it mate. One of the girls went to give the 9 yr old boy a hug and I've never seen him move so fast...to the other side of the car. Laughing Laughing

True story mate...if the "emergency stop" hadn't given me such a fright it all might have been quite funny. One of the girls said, before I came along all she could think of was the movie Wolf Creek. Sniper scared scared scared

You guys are honest! Creaps me out a bit but it shows the beauty of this forum in the truest sense that even anonymous participants (in that we don't exactly know each other that well) can relate and be honest in their replies. The sad part is that no one would ever believe your reactions (in real one-on-one conversation) as coming from grown, ex-military, professionals, men of the realm, kings of castles, full of crap sort of dudes. Not sayin you guys are full of crap, just sayin the perception of guys in general is that you're all full of crap and near sighted, evil an all that television stuff.

Lovely group here. Vinnie is a heroic man and a man indeed. Sort of a little naive bout girls but never the less honorable. Everyone else seems to have the gaping, watering mouth of a person waiting for the other shoe to drop, but are also sincere in their replies and it's very telling from which side of the fence they are falling.

So Vinnie.....be honest....you have my address and we've exchanged a few lucid moments of sheer adult enthusiasm (but don't tell everyone, as I think Bushy for one would be dismayed) so write me the whole story and don't forget the good parts this time.....ok?
