#1: Google Shopping Author: Ominivision1, Location: IowaPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 2:43 am ---- I have always used google shopping to find the best deals on the web, just a few minutes ago I was searching for nosler partition bullets and came up "Not Found"!! If you use the regular search, you can find them but have to manually open up the pages to find prices.
Apparently google has changed their policy for google shopping and no more guns, ammo, bullets, knives..etc. I did send them feedback as to what they can do with their new policy. Bing is now my default search engine.

#3: Re: Google Shopping Author: Suzanne, Location: Eugene, OregonPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 6:53 am ---- I tried AR 15 handguard and got results but the actual firearms get no results.
Also tried various Glock parts and got results, interesting that their means of censorship is blocking firearms but not their parts. If you type in Mauser you get a bunch of air rifles hhhmmmm. If you type Mauser 7.5 you get a few reloading dies but if you type Mauser 7.5 Swiss you get no results.

#4: Re: Google Shopping Author: Vince, Location: Brisbane AUSTRALIAPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:12 am ---- Interesting.
I did a search for Firearms For Sale...got About 2,250,000 results (0.09 seconds)
Tried a search for Firearms...got About 6,940,000 results (0.18 seconds)
Next I searched for Nosler Partition Bullets and got About 16,300 results (0.05 seconds)
Maybe it is just in your neck of the woods OV1...although I doubt it very much. Maybe it is taking time to filter down to us buggers Down Under, who knows mate. But at this time it seems to be working ok...although I will be watching.
Cheers, Vince
#5: Re: Google Shopping Author: Ominivision1, Location: IowaPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 8:29 am ---- Interesting, was reading their adwords policy and it's due to go into effect 7/1/2012. If I type in Imr 3031 I get a list of vendors and prices but it's a no go for glock 19 or nosler partitions.
Vince, this isn't the regular search, at googles home page click the tab that says "More" than select shopping.
#6: Re: Google Shopping Author: Bushmaster, Location: Ava, MissouriPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 9:35 am ---- Hey Omni...I Bet they just don't like you. I'm not having any problem looking up Nosler Partition or Glock (why anyone would want to look up a plastic gun. Especially Glock) 19. They both came up with a whole bunch of pages.
#7: Re: Google Shopping Author: Aloysius, Location: B., BelgiumPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 10:00 am ---- BM, did you perform a Google search or a Google product search?
Try this: you go to Google Shopping and there you do a Google product search for a Glock 19. You'll be amazed. You get a few Glocks, but no guns!
#8: Re: Google Shopping Author: Ominivision1, Location: IowaPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 10:05 am ---- Bushy, if I use the regular search, I get all kinds of hits. When your at the google home page, click the "MORE" tab and choose "Shopping" than type in any bullet you want and it will come up empty. And NO, I do not own a tupperware gun. Do a search on Yahoo or Bing and type in "google firearm policy" and note all the results.
But if you type the same thing at google search, you come up with just a few hits. And here is a screenshot of googles new ad policy.
But I still get shopping results for Imr 3031 powder!!

censorship by ommission.
Google can stick its shopping search where the sun dont shine.
I just did a shopping search on CZ 550 and got no results.
Plenty of results if you do a normal search.
#10: Re: Google Shopping Author: Suzanne, Location: Eugene, OregonPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 12:14 pm ---- Google says it's because of ;
Google AdWords doesn't allow the promotion of weapons or devices designed to cause serious harm or injury. The promotion of weapons includes guns, gun parts or hardware, ammunition, bombs, knives, throwing stars, and brass knuckles.
We've created this policy to comply with legal regulations. Another explaination differant web site
What legal regs are they talkin about? Maybe it has to do with ObamaCare, seems they attached something in there. That was about veterans and sharing information on mental issues and gun owners blah blah blah.. I don't know what legal regulations they're talkin about.

#11: Re: Google Shopping Author: Ominivision1, Location: IowaPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 1:51 pm ---- Yup your right Suz, I suspect since google is based out in Commifornia, the people who pay for the ad's (Stoveys favorite saying "STUPID LIBERALS" have had a zero tolerance policy for pro gun ads.
But here is the kicker, go to google shopping and type in "sex toys" and behold you have a boatload of info. Our shop was thinking of developing and android platform for CNC machines, guess what...the program and disc are garbage now.
Bing and yahoo still have no problems shopping (NOT SEARCHING) for guns.

#13: Re: Google Shopping Author: English Mike, Location: Whitehaven, Cumbria, UKPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 3:34 pm ---- I just cancelled all my business' advertising with Google. It's less than $1,000 a year but stuff 'em.
I'll find an alternative means to promote my business.
#14: Re: Google Shopping Author: Ominivision1, Location: IowaPosted: Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:33 am ---- Aloysius:
I never tried that search engine but I did add it to my browsers internal lists of engines and will try it out.
Well it seems Yahoo Shopping has not left us in the cold (yet) and a simple shopping search for "nosler bullets" gave me this. ----> shopping.yahoo.com/sea...lets&did=0
But no gun prices.
#15: Re: Google Shopping Author: Aloysius, Location: B., BelgiumPosted: Sat Jun 30, 2012 10:18 am ---- You also like the Nosler bullets? They realy kill, don't they? Whenever I don't feel myself sure enough, I take the 7 mm Mauser with a 140 grs Balistic tip... I just love that combination.
