Some of the tv commentators are more interested in making their ratings.
It is the fault of the listeners for giving high ratings to the "shock" presenter.
This is not the first insult done on air to our war heroes, nor it will be the last one.
They sit in their sofa, thinking that the world loves them for being pretty.. A55holes!

I wish we could ship some of the journo/presenters to defend the country overseas,
then they would not be as callous in their comments.

Once again I am reminded why I don't like "reporters" and why I never watch that type of TV show.

This is certainly a terrible piece of garbage...I will not call it journalism, because it certainly isn't.

Mocking a man of the calibre of Ben Roberts-Smith, especially when he cannot "return fire" is cowardly. Having said that, I don't believe that Ben would "return fire" as that is not the type of soldier he is or what an SASR soldier would do in that situation. If any of these presenters were even a 1/4 of the man Ben is, or could ever hope to achieve, in their entire life, even 10% of what Ben has achieved in his short life so far, then they would have something to be proud of...especially George Negus, who should know better.

I don't know Ben personally, but I do know that he is one of the nicest guys you could meet, the type of guy that you would be proud to call friend and comrade...and certainly a guy you would also be proud to have by your side on operations.

This particular program now knows that sort of harm they have done to themselves by this callous display of disgusting comments. I for one will never place any credence in comments made by any of the presenters again, and I most certainly will not be watching their show!!!

You insult one good soldier, you insult us all...we are a family. I am ANGRY !!!! Flame Mad Evil or Very Mad

Cheers, Vince

But, Ben's response to what the idiots said. and I paraphrase, I don't think they meant anything malicious.

What a classic, a great man and maybe a hero of his country defending the idiots who demeaned him.

I am of the opinion that just not giving credence to what these TV (sh--bags) news and commentary people say we need to be more active. Complacency has gotten us here and only activism will get us back to where we should be.

Who pays their salaries, the advertisers and why because the advertiser believes that people who watch will appreciate that they have produced this program and will therefore purchase their products.

I say no, and I tell them that. It has become so easy with the inter-net. And, I have a standard letter, that requires only slight modification, that tells the offending company that Les Jones and his entire family will not be purchasing their products or services until they change what they support on TV. Home Depot is one that I have not been to in so many years I cannot remember, why? Because they actively support the gay lifestyle and agenda.

Dose it make a difference, don't know, but we feel better. There are some things we miss, but have learned to get by. I cannot compromise my beliefs and ethics for the sake of a potato chip.

As long as we accept the actions of a few so called TV stars and their agenda we will continue to be witness to the deterioration of man back to the animal they want you to believe we are. A few pitiful "I'm sorry"ies are not enough.

:(I had never heard of the Victoria Cross before now-but after reading about it,it is like our CMH!I believe it was very poor judgement on the choice of commentators that the network employs!Ben Roberts-Smith should get much more than an apology!
I also believe in doing as Lester-by boycotting these advertisers so that they don't get my financial support.I don't know if it hurts their bottom line-but it makes me feel good knowing that if I do need something that my money goes to their competition! Very Happy

What this pair of highly paid idiots said is putting into words what most socialists(don't call them liberals because they ain't) actually think.
Heroic acts or anything that makes an individual appear to have done more than the herd average is anathema to them - because it shows THEIR paltry contribution to society for what it truly is; insignificant.

Stuff them & their egalitarian bullshit. Mad

The Aussie term mongrels doesn't come close to describing these idiots. They sit back enjoying the protection of men that risk their lives for their country and for all freedom loving peoples and to shoot their mouths off about a man who has been awarded the highest honour in the Commonwealth and make a mockery of themselves in the process is unbelievible. But then again men like Cpl Smith defend the weak and the ignorant along with the rest of their countrymen. wtf

You wouldn't get away with that here in NZ, Willie Apiata our most recent VC winner has made sure that people do understand that these Special Forces guys are a step above us all physically and mentally. FYI Apiata also got a VC for gallantry in Afghanistan about 6 years ago.
A journalist here would be sacked for comments of that nature.

They are in the shite with their sponsors;
au.news.yahoo.com/quee...he-circle/

With any luck this bimbo will be pulled off air tv and radio.
She can then hawk the fork for a living for real rather than dribbling shit for a living and insulting people who actually contribute to society.

That is a brilliant interview...both parts of it. It shows Cpl Ben Roberts-Smith for the man he really is...and it also shows that he is a man of compassion. He talks with complete detachment, yet with respectful restraint for the action he took against the Taliban Insurgents. It took for the presenter to say..."you killed them", before he said "yes, I killed him". He took out not one, but two machine guns and a RPG position...what can one say to that. After all of that, when the presenter mentioned his mate who was killed last year in Afghanistan, Ben struggled to hold back the tears. That is total compassion from a man who is a highly trained Special Forces soldiers. He can still show and be human.

Ben, you have my respect, and thanks, for the work you do in not only keeping Australia safe from terrorism, but also the rest of the free world.

Salute Salute Salute
