Vince if your eye is looking as wonky, you better run to see an eye doctor!

Are you still seeing the same after a night sleep?

An interesting thought mate...so I got my rifle out and checked, yep...still wonky.

I have a couple of things to get out of the way here over the next week or so, our youngest daughter's 21st next Saturday, then I will be going to see my Optometrist...I'm actually overdue for an eye test for new "eye crutches".

Another appointment I have is to see my Skin Specialist. I had a Squamous Cell Carcinoma removed from behind my right ear a few years ago...and over the past couple of months a small lump has slowly appeared just below my ear on my cheek. Its pretty tender so I am going to find out what it is and see about having it removed. I certainly hope that the ear and the lump are not related...would mean something most unpleasant. Might even force me to reduce my intake of amber fluid. Shocked

Cheers, Vince

Hey Vinnie's Back!! Wonderful pictures, thanks for sharing, makes me feel like I was there too. Looks like a very nice place to plop down for a while. I have a nephew with a tent for the back of his pickup, it was made to fit the truck, I really like the way those things keep you off the ground but once you're there you can't move (very far anyway). I'm a mover....Noticed your eye problem, I have one that does that too. My left eye has that problem and the doctors say it's solar caused (I have to quit staring at the sun?). My Daddy and I used to do a bit of sailing and I suppose it's from water reflection, but it's right in the center of my vision and it's scar tissue on my retina. Won't go away, could get worse (hasn't over 25yrs) but also yours could be something more serious, you need to get it checked for sure (detached retina or brain bunnies getting back at you). At least I don't aim with my left, but it does make close-up work a chore sometimes, my remedy is getting more magnification in my eyeglass prescription for close-upping. Works great. Yeah I noticed that lump behind your ear....more brain bunnie pooop, get the backhoe out and give it reaming.

Thanks Vince, for sharing the stories and the pics. Its very nice to see how folks in other parts of the world, like yours, enjoy the great outdoors.
Sure hope that eye gets cleared up with no problems. Very Happy

BUGGER...I never gave that a thought...the backhoe could do with a run too...haven't used it since I had to bury our kitty cat. Might have to get the missus to do it though...I can't see round there. Best I sharpen the tines to make it easy.

You may very well have hit the nail squarely on the head with the thought of solar damage Suz. I have plenty of solar damage to my skin from my time in the Army, so it is a definite possibility. I have the occasional spot before my eyes...sort of like an opaque blob that moves around as I move my eye. Was thinking that it is a small scar from whatever (a brain bunny claw maybe) and with time it is changing.

It is a beautiful spot Suz, and Moose. I could have spent a month there, but the mate had to be back to get some "honey do's" sorted.

Cheers, Vince

Well...got some news from the Dr on my eye...seems that on the edge of the makula in the back of my eye a small vein has been pinched somehow and it has caused a small thrombosis. This has caused the area around it to become "water logged" as he put it. He said that the eye will compensate by opening channels to try and drain it. He is going to re-scan it in a few weeks time, and if it hasn't changed, he will give me three injections in the eyeball...one a month for three months. He said that usually fixes it.

Had the lump on the side of my face removed...have a nice "sabre slash" scar now. Turned out it was a squamous cell carcinoma and it has thrown a root out onto a nerve in the side of my face. Have to go and have some radio therapy to deal with that now. Never rains, but it pours, eh.

Below is a pic of where the Doc chopped a lump'a steak out'a me dial. Oh yeah...and I've had a haircut since then so I don't look like a grub anymore.

Cheers, Vince

Thats a bugger mate!

Hows your blood pressure and glucose level?
Usually those are the culprit.

Hope you get better soon mate!

Thanks mate...blood pressure is near perfect and glucose should be ok...although I have never checked it.

The Doc said that there is a point where both an artery and a vein come through a small opening and he said that is where the vein has pinched...he said it is not an uncommon thing as you get older. He didn't seem to think that it was a major issue...but he has never had to look through a telescopic sight. Laughing

Not really looking forward to these needles in the eyeball though...doesn't sound real pleasant at all. Wonder if I'll see 'em comin'... Yuck

Man Vinnnie he took some steak outa yer chopper all right! Least it didn't leave a big void, that happened to my Granpa. Very manly sabre slash cap'tn Vinnie. I was wonderin what ever became of your eye prob. I think they use cocaine in the eyeball for anesthetic that should be interesting to have a sloshed eye and a sober one at the same time. I wish you the bestest recovery, winkers are pretty valuable stuff.

Still have a few days left before I have to go see the eye Doc, so don't know what's happening on that front.

Had my first visit with the Oncologist today reference the lump on the side of me dial. She gave me all the good info...said they found a row of cancer cells along a nerve in my cheek, but she is totally confident that she can kick their butts, and kill 'em in the meantime, using radio therapy. I have to attend everyday for 6 weeks...well weekdays...a total of 30 visits where they will zap my jaw each time. She will also do some scans to make sure things are happening the way it is supposed to...so I'm gonna be a busy bugger for a few weeks by the looks of things.

Hope the Nurse is easy to look at. Very Happy Very Happy Laughing Laughing Razz

And they don't have cold hands! Vince, you are going to be busy for the next few months as you have doubled up on therapy.

A friend's wife had an eye procedure on Monday to cure a hole in her retina. The injected an air bubble in the back of her eye and she has to lay face down for 3 weeks for it to heal. She is already seeing positive results.
