#1: Dead Center sabots for muzzle loader. Author: d_hoffman, Location: Chillicothe, OhioPosted: Wed Feb 28, 2007 11:44 am ---- I've got a .45 cal. CVA muzzle loader and have tried several different bullets for it. The absolute worst was the Power Belts. I tried different bullet weights and powder charges and still had NO accuracy with them at all.
Then one day at Cabelas I seen these Dead Center sabots, 195gr with a .357 projectile which actually looks like a ballistic tipped boat tail. I guess they're fairly new so I decided to give them a try.
I re-bore sighted my gun and went to the range. All I can say is WOW. I used 100gr of American Pioneer powder and my first shot was only 3" left at 50 yards. I made a couple of adjustments and proceeded to hit bulls-eyes. Needless to say, I'm impressed with them. Can't wait to try them at longer ranges.
