Every state sets its own dates for most of its non-migratory animals.

In my state, My wife has a Early season Rocky Mt Goat tag starting Sept 6th. Archery mule deer starts Aug 23, muzzleloader deer starts Sept 27th, Rifle deer season Oct 25. General Elk will be Oct 4th, Wyoming Pronghorn Antelope has a season my boy drew a tag for that runs sept 6th through Oct 31st. Antlerless big game can run as late as January 31st.

For migratory stuff, Dove always starts on Sept 1st. Waterfowl also starts the same time every year in the first week of Oct.

So as a general answer, late Aug through Dec.

It depends. In Pennsylvania, one can hunt groundhogs most of the year. Small game season opens in October and runs into February. Deer and bear season start in November and December. Other seasons come and go depending on the current regulations. Hope this helps. All the best...
