I bought some of the shells for my 20 gauge. They are 2 3/4 #8 shot. It doesn't say if they are lead or steel. Are they lead or steel? How can I tell without breaking one open?

Bismuth is a brilliant lead substitute Paul...very similar atomic weight and physical weight, and the crystals are very pretty mate.
