The drought is getting sever down here. Ranchers are selling off their herds. Expect beef prices to be higher this fall. Thirty straight days over 100F. Forcasting 106F this coming week. Here is the new rain gauge they are using.

I feel your pain guys.
We had 8 straight years of drought, dams were down to 15% for a city of 2 million people. Quite a few days over 40 deg C but not all at once like you've got ATM.
Still the floods and cyclones fixed the drought, swings and roundabouts.

"Make hay while the sun shines"

but they don't mention you need grass too...

Hope you don't blame us. I have to look it up but somebody in Iraq was blaming the western countries that we had a system "to empty the clouds"

in our language 'slim' means 'clever', but I also think it has another meaning in 'muslim', or maybe 'mu' just means 'not' ? Smile

when it can help: here they predict 3 (!) dry days, on Wednesday we can expect lots of rain again. Besides that we don't have a government, we also have no summer, even no weather...

I had to pick up some supplies for our shop and passed by an auction house for cattle, pigs. I could not remember the last time I seen so many cattle being auctioned off. I was talking to one of the guys that runs it and he said cattle from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, are all being bought to the northern states because there's no water, hay, alfalfa to feed the animals without incurring a major cost to have the hay, alfalfa and water transported in.

They said on a normal week, they sell around 1000 - 1500 cattle a week, now its up to 8000 to 9000 head a week. Sad

Beware at what you asked, for you might get them!!

Large parts of Oz was in drought for many years,
then all of a sudden, we receive all our owed allocations - plus interests all in a week!!!
From drought disaster zone to flood disaster zone..

Somebody must have had asked/begged/prayed very hard indeed...
