There's a few, physical, recoil, horsepower....and reloading.

Sometimes nothing scratches that itch like reloading. Be it pistol or rifle. Aint pulled the handle in a long time for a pretty good reason but the doc's got me on some new therapy that involves elastic bands and, one of the motions kinda mimmicks pullin' the handle. So I gave it a shot. 300 rounds of 230gr hardball later I'm a lil sore, no more than usual, but what a great workout...therapy for the mind and body. I missed pulling the handle and tuning out the world and concentrating on making some shiny new shootables. Be a while still before some recoil therapy but, the 357 dies are in now...then the 300m on the single stage press 'll get some tuggin' soon too so I'll be all set when the green light's lit. I especially like loading the 300m, and, my 44m "accuracy" loads. It's really a nice change from volume loading on the progressive. I love paying a closer level of attention to these loads, plinkers are studied and verified too but- these get more scrutiny and are really truly hand rolled and I get to use all my reloading tools and goodies.

Anyone else find reloading kinda theraputic?

Yepper- therapy for my wallet too...ammo prices are wonked and getting wonkier.

I also find handloading very restful. Heck, sometimes I even enjoy case trimming! And you're doing something that is actually productive.

I gotta agree with every one of the guys here...nothing more relaxeratin' than sitting down at the reloading bench and pullin' them handles. So relaxing.

In fact, I need to reload a heap of 12g shells...I can feel a relax session coming on now.

yip reloading is relaxing. making up loads for my lad to shoot through the .410 is particularly satisfying.

If you reload you don't need to spend the money on a psychiatrist. Makes reloading and sanity much cheaper.

6 boxes of 45ACP night fore last, 2 boxes of .357 combat and 1 box of .357 JHP wrists-snappers for the 2" small frame last night, got 3 different 44m laods lined up for tonight. Right shoulder gonna be strong here soon from all this yankin. Very Happy

I had a little therapy the other day. 550 rounds of 22-250, 125 rounds of .223, 50 of 270Win. Now I have to get some more bullets to rebuild my stockpile. I like to have 500 rounds of each calibre to reload just in case. I have usually 3-4000 rounds on hand at any one time. It is almost as good as _ _ _!

a long time friend of mine and I go to the range about once a week, weather permitting. he shoots 44-40 both rifle and single action revolver, replica hi wall 45-70 and 1895 in 30.06. he buys the componets and I do the loading. he always wants to pay me for the loading, he lust can't understand that it's a labor of love for me, been doing it for over 60 years now and for me it's plain fun. if I didn't do the loading, we would'nt be able to do that much shooting. especilly those 45-70's

The only reason you shoot so much is so you can reload them again. That's just plain selfish. You should invite him to help you. What are you afraid of? That he might like it to and start reloading? Then you will miss out on all that therapy?

Another thought Diesel is your mate gets pleasure from paying you to do the reloading for him...don't burst his bubble mate...find a way to get the $ back to him in a sneaky way.

But Bushy is right mate...teach him to reload...two calibres, two presses, two old mates. What an awesome bonding session that would be...what more could a man (or men) ask for.
