Here is an interactive map of the floods in Queensland. Just put your State or Country in the Search box and click Search...it will transpose the flood area onto your map. Will give you a good idea of just how big our floods were over here.

Wow, that is a whole bunch of water!! Thanks for posting this, Vince. Helps to comprehend the magnitude of this flood.

There's a comparison thingy on that map, I tried Washington state and the flooded area just about covers the entire state. YEOW!

Nice job of the water undercutting the road. Never get in the way of Mother Nature! Hasn't most of the flooding subsided or is this a recent video?

Holy cow! There is a stretch of road here along a river bottom that sometimes gets flooded in the spring. I usually just drove on through as long as I could see one edge the road. Maybe I'll just go around from now on...

I see on the news here that northern QL has a tropical cyclone of huge magnitude heading in.
Reports of Cairns hospitals & low lying areas being evacuated.
Not good.

Mike, Cylone YASI is reported as being the biggest and has the potential to be the worst in Australian history. Currently it is a Category 5 cyclone...worse that Katrina was that destroyed New Orleans...and is expected to cross the coast just north of Townsville at around 10pm local time (1200 hrs GMT) tonight 2 Feb.
There was, I say was because it is no longer reporting, a weather station on one of the islands just off the coast of Northern Queensland. Just before it stopped transmitting, it recorded and transmitted wind gusts of 290 KPH (180 mph)...and this is just on the fringe of the cyclone. This thing, or event as they are calling it, is massive. They are predicting storm surges of between 2 metres (8.2 feet) and 4 metres (13.1 feet)...coupled with a high tide which will only make things worse.
People have been evacuated from low lying areas and hospitals have been evacuated with patients being flown south to Brisbane by the Air Force.
Tell ya what...I'd like to get my hands on the bugger that crapped in Mother Nature's coffee cup...he has certainly p1ssed her off something chronic given the floods and now cyclone we are getting, and the snow storms you guys are copping.
Cheers, Vince

Here is a picture on how large the Cyclone Yasi off the coast of Queensland right now.
Compared to the continental USA, Europe, and some other interesting "small" countries.
