Yeh, you can hear it when it goes off.
But it always puts a smile on my face, when I'm shooting it or
when someone else is shooting it.
I think its accurate rifles that put the smile there first.
Then the rest is just fun.

I didn't really notice the noise from the porting, either when I was firing it or when a friend tried it. Its still a fairly low pressure load. I did notice a large muzzle flash when I fired it at dusk once!
