Not at all, but remember these are nice northern deer.
I have 3 more days to hunt and don't have to work, there will be two of us out in the morning and six of us the rest of the weekend. Hopefully there will be a few more to fall yet.

Wiersy, is that the trick? New camo? Does your deer like red eyes and green fingers?
Or do you just attrack them with the Browning sign?
But: I don't have such a son nor such a buck, so tumbs up!

Yep...true mate...its the reason my shooting buddy and I don't get out very often...he has to work.
Although, to be totally honest mate, I would love to have some sort of a job. The extra income would be a blessing, but no one is interested in employing a burnt out worn old ex soldier...especially one of my age.
Cheers, Vince

I feel like I've had the season of a lifetime and its only opening day here in Missouri. As I was walking in I spooked 4 it was too dark to see much but tails. It was extremely windy this morning and I felt like I was being blown out of the tree so after 2 hrs I climbed down and heard my buddy shoot, He got a nice buck and we dressed him he said his stand was behind a hill and not as windy so I went to his 5 min after I sat down a mature doe ran from right to left about 200 yards out at top speed, just watched her go. another 5 min and the exact same thing happens. another 5 min and a huge buck with a great rack does the same thing, as I'm starting to wonder if I have a knack for being in the wrong place at right time another mature doe goes but stop in front of me long enough for a shot bang-flop. I was thinking about getting down when a nice buck (not monster status) was coming straight at me at a trot I let him get within 50 yrds and bang flopped him with a shot to the throat. wow! when I looked at my watch I had been in that stand less then half an hour. Exciting no wall hangers but still goes down as one of the funnest opening days I ever had.
