So ... At the local supermarket.

I was at the local supermarket, well not local but on my way home from work. And I bought enough food that 7 bags would be needed. So I tell the cashier this (they tax us 5 cents a bag hence having to say I want bags Mad

) and she says "Heavens no that is too many" Confused

I get agitated and tell her I don't want the bags to be full as they cheap out on thin bags and they rip. Anyways I got real agitated when she started to fill each bag to the brim so I started to fill the bags myself.

She turns around and asks me "Are you American?" wtf

Some stores charge us 20c a bag here...Target are about the worst I think.

For the past ten years I've never bought bags for use in my shop & always used recycled supermarket ones saved up & given to me by customers.
Now the supermarkets have gone over to biodegradable bags that fall to pieces in no time at all & I'm having to consider BUYING the damn' things. Mad

I do however have several tough canvas bags for my own shopping, as I hate to see good beer spilled.......... Very Happy

It has just been announced this last week that here in Portland,Oregon-our fair(y) mayor has mandated all plastic bags will be done away with for shopping purposes and paper bags wil be able to be purchased for 5cents each!Or you can use your own canvas styled bags. Bushy-do you remember what happens to paper bags in a northwest rainstorm when full of groceries?Anyway this is to take place around the first of 2011..........Just gotta love the idiots in charge........ To be "green" it has to rain...East of the Cascades has it's own beauty. I especially like the Bend and Three Sisters area.

I hate the "valley",grew up on the east side-Union and Wallowa counties......But do to circumstances am kind of stuck in the green zone until the financial crisis turns around.I'd have to pay for my own job east of the cascades! Sad
