Any body shooting one of these? I just got one to go with my Blackhawk and am curious to see if anyone has any "watchout for" or "it really likes"? I really like the square bolt-Marlin combo.

Friend of mine has had one for several years, but I can't give you any insight into it...he still hasn't even fired it! I have handled it and his seems to be well made with minimal roughness when cycling the action but the trigger could probably use a little work. Good luck and let us know how you like it.

I have a Marlin 1894 "Cowboy" in .45 Colt that I used for CAS. I really like it. We did some polishing to improve the function and I've shot it out to 400 yards. I'd consider taking it deer hunting with the right load.

Marlin 1894s are great little carbines. I never had one in .41, but did have the .44 with a 16.5" ported barrel. I had replaced the sights with a Williams FP rear and fire sight front. Here's a good link for tuning it up and smoothing it out. marauder.homestead.com...M_1894.htm
In case you experience a jamming problem that has occurred in the 1894s from time to time, here's a fix.

Congrats and enjoy it!

Great link B'b', thanks. I guess next time I get a camera out I'll have to update my Santa Claus picture too. I'll work on it.

Nice Picture! Looks like Marlin doesn't make that model anymore. Is that a 18" barrel? Can you use the same cartridges in both pistol and rifle?

Nice pair of toys FN....oh yeah....and nice hat too mate.

I would imagine that they would be chambered for exactly the same cartridge Slim.

Cheers, Vince

Only difference would be that the Marlin would be a little more sensitive to OAL because of having to function through the action. Pressure and load data would be the same.
