Yes, you really can fire 9x19mm cartridges in a .40 S&W! When I was at the range yesterday someone handed me these three cases. Apparently some bulk ammo got mixed up on the loading table. No one was hurt and no equipment was damaged. I'm told that there is very little recoil when this happens. Accuracy wan't much to brag on though.

wtf You can also fire many rifle cartridges in rifles of diff't calibers-but I would'nt unless I was out of the right caliber ammo in a life or death situation! Not a good Ide-er!

Suprised it cycled.

Cool shapes, kinda reminds me of intakes for old school hot rods.

If you needed some .40 brass you should have asked. I would have sent you some rather than have you trying to fire form it from 9mm.

Yes you can !!!
I was an S.O. at a match when a guy grabbed his dad's 9mm XD mags instead of his .40cal XD mags out of their shooting bag. He managed to get 5 cycled through without a hiccup before I realized something didn't sound right and got him stopped.

The next match they showed up for they had guns and mags color coded with red and yellow tape !!! Shocked

Glad it occurred without incident. Russians designed their fire arms to be able to fire our ammo but we couldn't fire theirs. But not like this.

Someone I know fires 7.62x54R through his semi auto Bren chambered for .303 British.

Splits the case neck every time but when I fired it at an antelope silhouette at 500 yds, it was hitting nine times out of ten.

.308Win cases look interesting when fired in a 30-06 too....... wtf
