They can be but.........they can also be creatures of habit when it comes to roosting !!!
I've gotten early morning birds without a single call by knowing where they would head after flying down from the roost.
Just don't expect them to be there every morning after a little pressure is put on them

if any one has some extra Turkey feathers that you would be willing to give away. I need some for making feathers for some arrows.
I only tried to hunt a group of turkeys one time. Using a Bow.
was following them as they was heading up a small hill in Texas hill country.
thought I was going to be smart and run around the back side of the hill and let them run into me.
well. there I was all alone. and I mean all alone. they did not show up and I searched the the gullies and side of the hill where I seen them.
they vanished, I felt like I had been out witted by a Turkey. lol.

Which feathers are best for making arrows?
I have some tails, but they seem kinda long...

Left or right wing will work good. I have a Fletcher for either one.
The tail feathers I have used and work ok.
if you have some long tail feathers that would be great. I think they would be great for flu-flu feathers. and that is what a friend of mine is in need of right now.
any help with feathers would be greatly appreciated.
I know where there are some turkeys are around here, but I do not have a tag for them. and I have walked all over around the rivers and maybe just find one that is no good.
