Mad
OK guys I need help--I have a rem mdl 141 in 32 rem and I cannot put it together. I bought it and it was shipped in two pieces--
Here's the Problem: How do I get the bolt back in the receiver and then make it go into battery? I realize that the reciever and the frame have notches that have to be aligned to slide together. I just am having serious trouble getting everything back into one piece.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a pretty unique rifle that one doesn't see much of anymore. Maybe contact the Remington Society to see if someone there can help. www.remingtonsociety.com

I checked youtube to see if someone had a video on how to assemble or gunsmith a model 141 but had no luck. I can only say to be patient and it will eventual go back together.

Maybe the manual of the Remington 121 can bring the light? I found it on Stevespages:

stevespages.com/pdf/re...on_121.pdf

The first rifle I've ever seen in my live, was my father's FN Trombone. I still have that rifle in my possession and I love slide actions. And alltough this one is only a .22 I know that you have to be very carefull when you remount it, you have to watch that lug on top at the rear of the sliding-assembly. It should fit in the hole of the reciever. Maybe that's ennoying you now.

Wildhorse, when that doesn't help, I have here a "Sporting rifle take down & reassembly guide" by J.B.Wood. It's a very old book and the model 141 is not in it, but its successor the model 760 "Gamemaster" rifle is. I'm not in the possition to compare both models, but if you don't get better ideas I will scan this in and mail it to you. It's 11 pages.
I do have a Woodmaster 742 in 280 Rem. and the inner parts of the model 760 look very familiar to the 742.

Tongue position is vital to rifle re-assembly.

You did not have your toungue sticking into your moustache on the left side of your mouth far enough...

OK Guys, I am back among the living.. The Drs. told me that I had a heart attack while I was on the table. Was in ICU for five days after surgery. I finally got out of the hospital a week ago Saturday. Been a rough couple of weeks. I am much better now--up and at them. Went to town for coffee this morning, first time since going to the hospital. I really missed that.
Well as I said I am still on the mend but at least I'm on the downhill side of that.
Thanks for your prayers and words of concern.
Cliff
