Not sure what a tactile check is but I've never put my pinky were it shouldn't be......at least were a guns concerned!!! Shocked

It's a stealthy way of verifing a loaded chamber with your pinky by slightly bringing the slide out of battery. I'm not so good at it as my hands are jacked.

That's one thing I like about the XD's !!! You can verify loaded and cocked in the dark by feel.

Yep- agreed.
I was shown this method by another and was trying it in a tight spot etc. etc...slide slid slowly closed on my pinky pad. Shocked Ok- now what.

Yank. Mad I now just tell myself the fact that if there's a mag in it, it's hot and will go bang when trigger is pressed. And it does.

I think you miss understood !!! The XD's have indicators that pop out and can be felt, no need to ease the slide back unlocking it.

Yeh- some of that tactical stuff is a little over the top. I glean what I can then move on using what I think works for me.

Nope, didn't misunderstand. I know of which you speak. Many makers are including LCI and cocked indicators on firearms now.

My indicator that it's ready to go is it's within my reach. "All guns are loaded".
