Before what we now know as Hornady loading equipment there was Pacific Tool and Die. Pacific was subsuquently bought up by Hornady the way I understand it. I have an old Pacific shotshell loader that I can still get some parts for from Hornady. Your dies should be fine...the best way to find out is try them tho.

Back in the day, Pacific was well known for cartridge and shotshell reloading presses. I have a Pacific chamfering and deburring tool that I bought at the Peterson Field Rod & Gun Club back in 1966 and still use it. Your Pacific dies should be just fine if they had a good life. All the best...

I have a couple sets of Pacific dies, they are fine. They not only made quallity tools in the early days but they developed the basic reloading presses and 7/8x14 dies as we know them today.

RCBS/Fred Huntinton modified the Pacific C presses into an O press design and added the compound toggle linkage in the early 60s.

Redding first had case head specfic rams with the 1/8" inch deep shell holders cut into the top. Forget who developed todays interchangeable shell holders.

I have a set of Pacific 357 magnum dies that I use in my Lee Classic Cast Turret. the cartridges work just fine in my Desert Eagle and revolvers. Though they are steel dies and need to be used with lubed cases, thats no big deal.

I had a set of Lee .223 dies but let them go when I sold my Savage bolt. I'm gonna hand load for the AR-15 so I needed another set. I have Rcbs, Lee, Hornady, and Redding dies on the bench it sounds like these should be pretty good dies as well. I should have them this week.

I'm no fan of nor espert on black rifles but it's my understanding they are uaually made with loose chambers that don't require small base dies. I'd sure try it with conventional dies before going for something else.

I load for several Colt ARs and have always used standard dies. Never had a problem. All the best...

Redding makes small base dies and a small base body die.

Dillon dies are designed to work with semi and full auto and can be had with or without carbide. (still need to lube with carbide)
$136.00 carbide 3 die
$63.00 standard 3 die
I know the carbide is expensive but the guys I know that bought them say they’re worth it.
