Here's a tip for those that own chronys......

Place some clear(scotch) tape over the sensors, watch how much better they'll work!

Also it keeps dust out, AND for REALLY cold weather those chemical "hand warmers" placed on the battery keep 'em working great as well....

Tip comes from John Barsness (famous gun writer, Nosler Reloading guide and various Wolfe Publishing goods) FWIW...

Oehler 35p as well with 3 screens since 1992. No problems.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all of the input on this, I really like this forum, everyone is willing to help out. I guess that I really wantthe Chrono for basic load developement and so that I can use the Point Blank software more effectively. (By the way Dallan, I really like this program, it does everything the others do and more in some cases). I've looked at the Oehler but, much as I'd like to be able to, I can't justify the price.

i like my F1 chrony

it was under 100 dollars and works extremely well

I agree about the chrony. But I have had erroneous redings from it once in a while. Never with the 35P

you will get odd readings with any machine time to time thats why you go for averages and i throw out any odd high or low readings.

Again, I agree but with the 35P proof channel the machine will flag the error and give you the option of ommiting same. Cool

I have a Crony Delta (or maybe its a beta) that I bought the "blast covers" for... I got them because I crono'd muzzleloaders and a couple shots over a crony results in a soot filled metal box LOL. The covers work great, kept out all the gunk and made it so I only needed a quick wipe with a windex coated patch every couple of shots.
