|
HI I am new to this group. I am looking for reloading info on wepons. The 500 S&W plus the Savage 10ML-50 cal. I have loaded both with h-4227 powder. I do use w-680, and w-231 also. I need all the input I can get. I load 12-gauge shot guns, both muzzle loaders and regular shell weapons also. I shoot 50 and 54 cal black powder rifels also so I am looking for info on improving my loading and shooting. Thanks for your time...

Welcome to the site Owen.
As for the 500, i think you will find this useful---> John Ross 500 load data .

Yup, according to my Oehler 35 P. I have the standard 8 3/8" bbl. S&W. Actually 1608 fps is the exact # and about the same speed with 41 gr of H110.

42gr Lil'gun (max load) 1890 fps 8 3/8" and 1904 fps 10.5"
Edited to add
That the numbers are from data that's over a year old, and pretty much i don't shoot too much (if at all) jacketed bullets anymore.

Let me fore warn you though, i had trouble because this IS a 'MAX LOAD' extracting with CB brass (normally i never use CB ammo or brass)! Hornady was very slightly sticky, but a-ok, and starline was just fine.
Something about CB ammo none of my guns like, and the fact of mediocre accuracy....Plus they are very brutal with not doing or going above and beyond what factory Hornady and Winchester do.
