I saw snow twice....1962 and 1984. Darn global warming. I guess I need to send Al Gore some money for Carbon Credits! Or, I can just enjoy South Texas. We'd have sring flowers blooming by now if it would have rained some in the last 14 months.

I drove to work tonight in 1-2" of slush. Had to backtrack once due to power lines down in the road. Took me about an hour for my normally 17 mile drive. All the way here I was thinking "I sure am an idiot!"

Mom said that they're looking at 7 days of rain in California. And they need it. Here I had my 5th time in snow right after I got here.

Snow, the stuff that makes this area look white for about half the year.

I know that this is the first time we've had any accumulation in about 5 years. The stuff froze solid while I was at work and the drive home was much easier, although still slow.

What a bunch of cupcakes.
Back in the day, I would have to varnish my snowshoes three times a winter, because I had so many miles on them.
I love snow. The more the better.
The best ice fishing of the year is the next month and a half.

Sorry to hear that the northern two thirds of the country got blasted by this freezing weather (darn global warming).
Don't tell anybody, but I'm enjoying springtime in South Texas.
This period in South Texas doesn't last very long....it quickly jumps to the heat of summer.
Shortly the Snow Birds will start heading back north (retired northerners that winter over in South Texas.)
Hang in there, spring is working it's way slowly to the north.
To all of the ice fishermen.....enjoy the weather....and post pictures!

"Nibblin on sponge cake, watchin the sun bake, all of those tourists covered in oil, etc., etc."
Spring break just started and it is 70-ish with sunshine. Those college girls get younger and better looking every year Have a nice time shoveling snow.
Best,
Ed
