Wanted to say hello to ya both from SWIowa.
There is a reason this is one of my top places to hang out!
You will find the guys(and few gals too) to be EXTREMELY supportive of about ANYTHING of a personal nature you care to share with the group.
Ask me about it sometime!
This IS a good place!!! As you will soon find out if you haven't been "lurking about" in here already.
And as you are from a certain part of the US I would wager a dollar that you are familiar with some type of Burbon. My personal is Scotch, but I do like a Rye made here in Iowa about 2.5 hours away. Templeton Rye it is called. Though I would love to try some Aquavit Sometime.
Grab that stump and join in around the campfire there is lots to talk on.

Heck, I thought you were doing just fine.
To all the English teachers out there: "I can't speak English very good either," but I write it very well. (get the pun?)
I write legal environmental documents for a living, and most "laymen" (no pun intended- including “lawyers”) can't understand that either.

We sound a little bit different. Heck, I think we all talk with a different accent.
That reminds me of a story...I was talking to this East Indian guy and I used a couple of terms that confused him. I used the term "little bit" when asking a co-worker to move something. He gave me a funny look and asked me what "little bit" meant. When I told him, he was amused. He told me that in India, to convey the same thing, they would say "small amount."
He once asked me where there was a gas station; I told him "over yonder." He gave me a funny look and said "what's a yonder."
I was working with a "blond" one day when I told her that I felt null and void (meaning really tired). She looked at me really funny and said "what's nullnvoid?" I told her "well, first of all, it's two words."
All true stories!
Y'all have a great day!
Cary
