Last summer I purchased a hi point side arm .45 auto.It is the JHP model.I payed 185.00 for it brand new.Its a big black ugly gun,it can double as a club.Any way after about 200 rounds threw it now its jams all the time.I allways keep my guns clean.I clean them after im done shooting all my guns are spotless.I took the gun apart like the manufacture says and made sure it was cleaned like they recomended and it still jams. The manuel that comes with it doesent tell you crap.I found a web site that has more information that the company sends with the firearm.Anyway does anyone out there have the same problem with any hi point fiirearm? If so any advice? Thanks Teebone51

Your problem teebone, is buying a big black ugly .45 auto for $185.00, and then being surprised when you have problems with it. Very Happy

Give it a pitch, and spend some serious money on a .45.
Then, if you have problems, maybe us guys can help you.

Yep the old adage that you get what you paid for, in this case a club is right on.
If the manufacturer didn't recommend you send it in for warranty repair then you know for sure you money went into the makers beer fund and not product improvement and customer service.

Good bare bones 45 autos start at $450.00 and go up from there. Save up your bucks or use your Obama bucks (taken from the working mans paycheck) to buy a quality 45 handgun.

I paid just under $500 for my Taurus PT1911 and I sure can't find anything to complain about with it. As for the Hi Points... Too ugly for a paperweight, too light for a boat anchor. Just my opinion of course.

You might also want to take a look at EAA Witness pistolsThey seem to be a good gun. I've asked a bunch of people about them and haven't heard anything bad. I have held a .45 before and it feels good in my hand.
Go to budsgunshop.com and take a look.

Good point by Hoffman,

EAA pistols, for the price, are top notch guns.

I have a Witness, and the CZ 75s are the chosen pistol on many Police Forces.

Talk about giving a guy a kick in the pants !!!

Welcome to HuntingNut teebone51

For the most part I'm with the others on the subject at hand, but, I do know of 2 guns like yours that do run pretty good. Well most of the time !!!

They seem to be fussy as to the ammo you run through them.
If your sending reloads through it, keep in mind that the slide is pretty heavy on them guns. Light loads and target type ammo don't do well at all in them.
Higher pressure and standard 230gr. roundnose bullets are best.

Teebone, I hope we haven't offended you, I realize we've been a bit harsh about the Hi Points. You've just run into what we've all already heard and seen about them.

OH father, forgive me of my sins !!! and please forgive Kimber of theirs too !!!

When I spend that kind of money for a Gold Match that comes from their coustom shop,
I DO NOT expect it to have a barrel all screwed up from a broken reamer or what ever it was that did the damage. Mad

Lord have mercy, I have seen the light !!!!
Buy a STI, they know how to build a gun right the first time !!! Very Happy

I see your problem with Kimber right off the bat Chamber Man.

You got you Pistol from the coustom shop, instead of their CUSTOM.

Boy, I'm sure glad that I got Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing my Kimber from the Custom Shop.

Thanks for the heads up partner. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
