I am rather partial to the powders manufactured here in Australia by ADI.
Have a mate who loads the 7.62 Russian and he uses these powders with much success.
Have a look here and I am sure you will find something that is good for you.

These powders are marketed in the US under a different name. The only one I know is Varget which I believe to be AR2208. This is a great powder for 7.62 (308).
Cheers, Vince

It depends. I prefer to use a moderate charge of IMR4895 and 150 grain spitzers. It is important to slug the barrel because bore size tends to vary a bit. I can use .308" bullets in my Finnish rifles, but some of the Russians like .311" diameter bullets better. All the best...

In Reloading, there was a good load with Sierra 174gr bullet. If anyone knows it, please write it back. I wanted to see details about that load, did not reat the text in the begin of the page and I reported that load. I am very sorry :o(

I have had good luck with Varget, IMR4064 and IMR4895, all with various bullet weights but my MN's like .3105 to .311 bullets in 165 to 174 grain.
Will send some specific loads if you E-mail me.

I use 43.5 gr H4895 in a Winchester case, CCI 200 primer and 180 gr .311" Sierra Pro Hunter.
Hodgdon has some pretty complete reloading data for this caliber freely available on their website: www.hodgdon.com/data/r...62x54r.php

I am pretty sure I am not using anything Vectan, but ya' never know where suppilers get the powder lots they buy and have made for themselves. I am mostly a Hodgdon guy myself but have been thinking of getting some Vitavhouri(?) to try. I have a friend who would like try his hand at loading for his M44 MN. And I read these posts alot to gain anything I can I might help him with.
